This year marks a significant milestone for Number One Plumbing, AC, Solar & Electric—our 20th anniversary. It’s been an incredible journey, from humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in Albuquerque, NM, for plumbing, HVAC, solar, and electrical services. Over these two decades, we’ve been honored to serve this vibrant community, grow alongside it, and continuously improve through dedication to quality and excellence.

Two decades ago, the idea for Number One Plumbing, AC, Solar & Electric was born when founder David Kaminski decided to take a bold leap into entrepreneurship. After years working in the trades, Dave saw an opportunity todo things differently—to provide superior service through hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing what’s right for customers.
Starting out was anything but easy. Operating out of a garage office, Dave worked two jobs—spending his weekdays as a contractor and evenings building his business."The garage was my office, and weekends weren’t for rest—they were my busiest days," he recalls. With a single work truck, a trailer, and immense determination, he gradually built a client base by word-of-mouth referrals.
What began as a plumbing and HVAC focused business quickly grew to include electrical and solar services. The addition of solar energy solutions solidified our ability to offer comprehensive home infrastructure services. Our goal has always been clear—to meet and exceed the unique needs of our Albuquerque community.
By the early 2010s, Number One had moved from Dave’s backyard into a professional commercial space. "It was challenging, but it was the best decision we made. It allowed us to separate work from personal life and scale the business sustainably," says Dave. Today, we’re proud to serve customers with a fleet of vehicles and a team of highly experienced technicians.
We owe our success to the people of Albuquerque—our neighbors, friends, and loyal customers. From day one, we’ve set out to give back. Whether through sponsoring local events, actively supporting charitable organizations, or participating in community cleanups, we don’t just work here; we live here.
Running a business for 20 years comes with its fair share of hurdles. From balancing work and personal life to staying ahead of industry trends, we’ve faced and overcome challenges through persistence and constant learning.
One of the hardest transitions, Dave recalls, was learning to delegate and trust."I knew I couldn’t do everything myself, but letting go of the reins was difficult. Ultimately, trusting our team to take on responsibility has been one of the best decisions I made." This approach has fostered a culture of leadership throughout the company, allowing employees to grow personally and professionally.
We’ve always believed in putting our customers first through top-notch service and honest communication. Every decision we’ve made as a company has been with our clients in mind—from investing in state-of-the-art equipment to training technicians in customer-facing skills.
We’re also proud of our high standards when it comes to customer feedback. Positive reviews highlight what we’re getting right, but constructive feedback has been a critical tool on our path to improvement. Each suggestion is taken seriously and directly informs how we grow and adapt our services.
While we’re proud of where we’ve been, we’re even more excited about where we’re going. Over the next 20 years, our plan includes expanding to 50 employees, continuing to introducing cutting-edge technologies like AI-powered diagnostics, and maintaining our position as a leader in energy-efficient solutions, including solar.
Innovation will remain at the heart of everything we do. By being early adopters of new technologies in residential and commercial infrastructure, we aim to offer our customers the most advanced solutions on the market.
One thing that won’t change is our unwavering commitment to Albuquerque. We envision continuing to build trust and partnerships here at home while leading the way in service excellence.
